Amy's legal career began working as an Assistant State's Attorney with the Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office in Rockford, Illinois. She prosecuted various criminal matters ranging from felony financial crimes to felony crimes of violence including first-degree murder. She has extensive litigation experience, having tried almost 30 cases in either a jury trial or bench trial setting. In addition to trial experience, she has litigated numerous matters ranging from motions to suppress evidence to hearings on petitions for orders of protection for victims of crime. Amy maintained good working relationships with local law enforcement agencies in the Rockford area to help streamline the process between reviewing cases for potential charges and preparing arrest warrants.
Amy received her J.D. from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois where she gained practical experience working in the Civil Practice Clinic representing clients in matters involving contracts, wills and estates, and guardianship appointments.
Amy received her Bachelor's Degree from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois in 2004. She is currently a member of the Winnebago County Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.
