Sara focuses her practice on the defense of asbestos and toxic tort personal injury maters. Sara serves as one of the primary contacts for several asbestos clients including product manufacturers, equipment manufacturers and premises owners. Sara's expertise in the defense of asbestos-related product and premises claims has made her a valuable member of many of the firm's client defense teams. Sara works closely with our clients and their counsel to develop and implement their defense strategies and assists in evaluating those strategies as they relate to the jurisdictions in which she practices.

Sara is involved in all aspects of the defense of these cases, including the preparation and presentation of all necessary motions, defending the firm's clients at depositions, taking depositions of opposing parties and working with experts in order to prepare for trials in Illinois and Missouri.

A native of St. Joseph, Illinois, Sara has worked her entire career at Heyl Royster, starting as a law clerk in our Urbana office and practicing in our Edwardsville office since 2006. Sara became a partner with the firm in January 2015.
