Edwardsville Attorney Jennifer Johnson Serves on the MCBA Student Internship Program Committee
06/15/2012
In 2012, the Madison County Bar Association launched an internship program to provide opportunities to local high school students who are interested in the legal profession. Heyl Royster's Jennifer Johnson is a member of the program's committee. The committee instituted an application process, and seven area high school students have been selected and paired with local law firms for a four-week unpaid internship during June 2012. One of the students, who will be a senior at Edwardsville High School this fall, is currently interning in our Edwardsville office. During the internship, the students will experience a professional environment and learn the daily challenges and rewards of a legal career.
On May 30, 2012, Heyl Royster's Edwarsdville office hosted an orientation session for the students, which included meeting with two Madison County judges, and touring the civil court, criminal court and jail.
