Bruce Thiemann

Dedicated and committed to his clients, Bruce focuses his practice on business formation, development, and transactions, as well as contracts, real estate, insurance issues, licensing, and other matters related to the representation of corporations, limited liability companies, and other business entities. In addition, Bruce represents clients in general matters, including real estate, trusts and estates, estate planning and diverse practices.

Bruce practiced with Kavanagh Scully from 2005 to 2022. He then joined Heyl Royster, bringing his 43 years of expertise and focus on representing clients to the firm. Before Kavanagh Scully, Bruce was a sole practitioner, a founder of Hafele, Thiemann & Carter, and started his practice with the McConnell Kennedy firm (Quinn Johnston).

Bruce served from 1968 to 1970 in the United States Army as a helicopter door gunner/crew chief with the 7th Squadron, 1st Air Cavalry Regiment, flying missions out of Vinh Long in the former Republic of South Vietnam to suppress activity by the Viet Cong and NVA. Since returning to the real world in 1970, Bruce has worked to raise awareness of the service and sacrifice of Vietnam Veterans.

Bruce was a founding member, and eventual chairman, of the Peoria County Board Sub-Committees. For over 20 years, the group designed, fund-raised, and created the Courthouse Square memorials to Peoria County residents who lost their lives in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, and continuing conflicts. Further, Bruce and fellow Heyl attorney Phil Lenzini assisted in creating the 10th Judicial Circuit Veterans Court.

Residing in East Peoria, Bruce is married to Teri Thiemann, with children and grandchildren in the area.
