March 27, 2023
Heyl Royster Governmental Practice Chair Andy Keyt presents "Zoning Wind/Solar Projects: A New Day in Siting Projects" at the Illinois Association of County Board Members (IACBM), March 27th Wind and Solar Siting Ordinance Compliance Seminar. Details at https://ilcounty.org/events/wind-and-solar-ordinance-compliance-seminar.
The seminar will present P.A. 102-1123, which refines Illinois county governments' ability to regulate commercial wind and solar energy facilities. Legal counsel will address the new law and outline components of the sample ordinances provided by the IACBM. The presentations will help guide county board discussions and subsequent zoning standards to meet the statutory requirements. The seminar is exclusive to county government officials and department heads.
Andy Keyt's primary focus as a firm shareholder and the Governmental Practice Group chair is advising governmental entities and private businesses in their legal framework. He often advises counties concerning land use and zoning matters, particularly proposed utility-scale renewable energy projects, in all aspects of governmental litigation, contracting and procurement, employment, corporate governance, and sunshine laws.
