Michael Kokal Teaches Healing Ambassador Training Program
March 31, 2021
Heyl Royster attorney Michael Kokal co-facilitates a 40-hour instructional program designed to train healing ambassadors. Conducted during the first quarter of 2021, the purpose of this program was to facilitate transformational community dialogue and storytelling skills to promote racial healing and equity. This Healing Ambassador Training Program is sponsored by the Illinois Public Health Association, an affiliate of the American Public Health Association, the oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated exclusively to public health. The program received a grant through Healing Illinois – a racial healing initiative of the Illinois Department of Human Services, in partnership with The Chicago Community Trust, designed to distribute $4.5 million grants to organizations across the state to begin or continue the work of racial healing.
