Transitioning from public service to private practice, Ierulli joined Howard & Howard Attorneys PLLC, a firm with over 100 lawyers, and was a shareholder. His judicial career began in 2016 when he was appointed as an Associate Judge in the Tenth Judicial Circuit. The Illinois Supreme Court later appointed him as an At-Large Circuit Judge, where he presided over medical malpractice and commercial disputes, demonstrating his adaptability across diverse legal matters.

He has held leadership positions, such as President of the Abraham Lincoln Court and the Moss-Bradley Residential Association, and served as a Commissioner on the City of Peoria Zoning Board of Appeals.
