Toney fosters a team approach strategy to defend Workers' Compensation claims. He takes pride in identifying and placing the right people around the table to tap into their expertise, recognizing that he doesn't have all the answers. Toney believes collaboration can help clarify a picture and assist in making more informed choices to achieve better results.
As Chair of the firm's Workers' Compensation Practice working out of the Champaign and Edwardsville offices, Toney covers Workers' Compensation dockets and trials in most of Illinois and Missouri. He concentrates his practice in the areas of Workers' Compensation claims and appeals, protecting Workers' Compensation liens, and third-party defense of employers.
Active in the community, Toney has served on the Board of Directors of the Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club in Champaign for over 12 years, including three as its President. More recently, he has transitioned to the Club's Foundation Board, where he has played a pivotal role in successfully opening a new community-based children's center.
To "relax," no one is happier to hit the links than Toney. Despite his claim that he has one of the highest handicaps in the area, Toney simply enjoys the great outdoors and quality time with friends and colleagues.
