Chris Drinkwine, the firm's Appellate Practice Group co-chair, began 2024 by arguing before two different courts. In January, Chris successfully defended an appeal in Downs v. Peters, 2024 IL App (4th) 230571-U, challenging the circuit court's order enforcing a settlement agreement before the Illinois Appellate Court. In February, Chris argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit for the Appellees in a First Amendment retaliation case. In recent years, Chris has appeared before the Seventh Circuit on six different occasions and has argued dozens of appeals in each of the state's five appellate court districts. The Seventh Circuit is tasked with appellate review of cases tried in the United States District Courts in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin and has been the home to three U.S. Supreme Court Justices.
