Katie Anderson

With an interest in human behavior, Katie has always enjoyed persuasion and has found litigation the ultimate exercise in the art. A responsive and effective communicator, she is driven by strategy and analysis as she strives to understand her client's positions to represent them fully. Katie Anderson serves as Chair of the firm's Healthcare Practice Group. As Partner, Katie utilizes her substantive legal and industry knowledge in her Healthcare and Medical Malpractice Defense practice.

Before joining Heyl Royster, Katie practiced at a firm in Decatur, Illinois where she became a partner in 2012. Her practice included medical malpractice defense of healthcare entities and health professionals, creditor bankruptcy work, and civil litigation defense. In 2016, Katie became General Counsel for a community hospital in central Illinois, where she managed litigation, risk, compliance, regulatory, insurance, and medical staff matters.

In her downtime, Katie enjoys relaxing at home with her two dogs, cooking, and binge-watching her favorite shows and movies. A cycling enthusiast, you might find Katie on a bike ride or watching professional cycling events.
