Significant Legal Victory from Heyl Royster’s St. Louis Office

We are pleased to announce a significant legal victory from Heyl Royster’s St. Louis office. Our team recently succeeded in vacating a default judgment entered against our client, a local bar in St. Louis County.
This case involved complex notice issues: our client did not receive proper notice of the lawsuit or default judgment hearings, which deprived them of the due process necessary to defend themselves. Despite Missouri’s strict standards for vacating default judgments—particularly those pending for over a year—we demonstrated a violation of due process under RSMO 74.06(b)(4), resulting in the court setting aside the judgment.
This outcome was achieved through diligent research, careful timeline investigation, and an in-depth analysis of Missouri case law and precedent. Congratulations to Associate Attorney Abhi Nair for handling the case under the supervision of Partner Michael Bedesky.
At Heyl Royster, our unwavering commitment is to defend our clients’ rights and uphold fairness in every case we handle. We take pride in our legacy of providing trusted legal service in the Midwest for over 115 years.
