Benfield and Inman Achieve Favorable Summary Judgment in Medical Malpractice Case

Heyl Royster attorneys Mark Benfield and Maddie Inman recently obtained summary judgment in favor of an Illinois surgeon and a Central Illinois hospital in a medical malpractice action.

The plaintiff alleged that a delay in performing surgery caused serious injuries. Throughout several years of litigation, the defense established that the physician did not owe the patient a duty during the timeframe at issue. The court entered summary judgment for the defendants on all counts.
