Summary Judgment Secured for Correctional Healthcare Professionals

Heyl Royster attorneys Keith Hill and Michael Hall recently secured summary judgment for a dentist and dental assistant in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois, in the Seventh Circuit.
The plaintiff alleged violations of his Eighth Amendment rights and sought declaratory and injunctive relief, along with more than $90,000 in damages. Through strategic discovery, careful factual development, and persuasive motion practice, Keith and Michael demonstrated that the claims lacked evidentiary support. The court entered judgment in favor of their clients on all claims, resolving the matter without the need for trial.
This result reflects Heyl Royster's collaborative approach-bringing together experience in civil rights defense, correctional healthcare, medical negligence, and complex federal litigation to protect our clients' interests.
Congratulations to Keith and Michael on this excellent result!
