Results
- Obtained a defense verdict on behalf of a physician and health system in a complex medical negligence wrongful death trial in Rockford, Illinois. The case involved a 55-year-old patient who died following rupture of the subclavian artery during an angioplasty procedure performed to address cerebral and subclavian stenosis. The plaintiff alleged that the procedure was not clinically indicated and that there was insufficient documentation to justify proceeding with stenting. The defense established that the patient’s condition was severe, that the treatment decisions were medically appropriate under the circumstances, and that the physician’s care complied with the applicable standard of care. The jury returned a verdict in favor of the defense.
